The Significance of a Secondar

In the play Twelfth Night, by William Shakespeare, there were many characters whose presence was essential. Other than the main character, Olivia played an important role. She has a key role in the conflict of the main plot. As well as many of the sub-plots.
Olivia is involved in the love plot more than any other plot. Duke Orsino is very much in love with her. Even though he has not really seen or actually talked to her about the subject, Orsino is very much in love with her. He has made many attempts to gain her love, but they barely worked.              After Olivia met Cesario, she started to fall for him. She saw that he was a caring and sensitive man. Olivia kept on wanting to see Cesario again, so she sent her servant after him/her. She had her servant, Malvolio, bring Cesario a ring. That gave her the idea that she loved her.
Duke Orsino was not the only man in love with Olivia. Sir Andrew also loved her. He had been in love with her for quite some time, but was never able to acquire her. While Olivia was falling in love with Cesario, Sir Andrew was becoming jealous. He didn't like the fact that Cesario was getting so much attention from the women he wanted.
Another man that fell in love with Olivia was Malvolio. This is the plot that Olivia was unaware of her involvement. She had no idea of what was happening to her servant, but without her that plot would not be possible. The letters sent to Malvolio by Maria were in Olivia's handwriting. According to Malvolio, they said how much she loved him. After reading the letters, Malvolio began to fall in love with her.
Overall, Olivia is one who seems very important in Twelfth Night besides the main character. She is involved with almost every plot in some way. She is especially involved in the main conflict of the play. ...
