September 11

             The tragedy of September 11 is one that will never be forgotten by any American anywhere in the world. People of all nations will remember what happened here that day and it will probably go down in our history books. There is no one anywhere who could not have been moved or affected by the acts of terrorism bought on New York, Washington DC, Philadelphia and the United States that Tuesday morning. The fact that we were attacked with no apparent reason makes the lose of all the lives that were taken that much more senseless.
             No one can tell us why we were attacked but we know for sure that terrorism is very real. The rational that we stand for freedom and they hate it, we are rich and they envy us, we are strong and they resent this are all true statements but give no excuse for the violence. The government continues to investigate and speculate, with no apparent solution, and that speculation makes us all a very uneasy. The feeling of uneasiness when we leave our home is something that we as a free country have never had to live with before. Being in large crowds, on our jobs, shopping at the mall, attending classes and going to church are things that we have always taken for granted. Now I am every watchful of things going on around me. Being a single individual has taught me to always be careful and much more so now than ever.
             The United States has always been a "good neighbor" to all countries and provinces in need. The first to step up to the plate in the face of disaster and help our neighbors in need and give them support. Our nation is still reeling from this tragedy and trying to make sense of the awful acts of terrorism thrust upon us. Longer lines in airports, monitors on the airplanes, heightened security in our federal buildings are just a few of the modifications that our government has devised to make us feel safer. George W.
