The Lone Ranger once again mounts his white horse, tips his white hat to a fair lady, and rides off into the sunset after yet again saving some small bordertown from villainous bandits. The classic good conquers evil message is thoroughly portrayed in this scene, which is very popular in the minds of many. The basic yet idealisitc presumption that good will always conquer evil in the end is unfortunately not a realistic part of today's society. These days, no matter what is done to prevent evil from happening, the "good guys" never seem to get a break. In a situation such as the terrorist attacks of September 11th, the fact that evil always seems to have the upper hand, could not be more true.
             During the days after the September 11th attack the world, and especially the American people were in shock. Even to this day, people are still suffering emotionally, mentally, and physically. Sure, the US got themselves together and went on a mad search for bin Laden, but that doesn't mean that it can erase the evil deeds that were done. The memories of what happened are forever inbedded in the minds of the world, and even if all the entire Al-Quaida and bin Laden followers are supporters were terminated, and just ceased to exsist, the thoughts and the memories are still there. Bin Laden and his boys set out to accomplish one thing, and it was to instill fear in the minds of the rest of the world. Well, guess what? They did it. The whole world went into panic mode and became paranoid about every little thing.
             People respond to evil. No one cares who won the Nobel Prize or cured cancer, if there's a massacre down the road. It doesn't matter how many charities were helped, when there are bullets in the air. Along with evil comes fear, and it is this fear that makes us remember the bad things, and it is this fear that makes people like bin Laden so powerful. His ability to instill fear in every one of us, makes him successful.
