             The Levites were ordained by the sprinkling of water, their bodies were shaved and their clothes washed. They were then presented to God. The High Priest laid his hands on them and was required to present two bullocks, one as a burnt offering, the other as a sin offering. The Levites to be regarded as the servants of the priests. They were in charge of keeping the vessels and furniture clean and everything else that the law did not require of the priests.
