             There are many different views about prostitution. Some people believe that it is a form of rape and others would say it is only an exchange of goods for service. In Women's Rights in the USA: Policy Debates and Gender Roles Dorothy McBride declares some people believe that "prostitution is a private sexual relationship or a way for people to earn money, just like offering many other personal services" (pg. 206). Simply put, it is like a business transaction in which both parties receive something out of the exchange, namely money and some sexual performance. In this light, prostitution makes sex appear so impersonal, which is another negative aspect of prostitution. Although the prostitute may not enjoy performing a sexual task for the client, the money afterward is what balances out the equation just as giving money from the client balances the displeasure the prostitute endures. In The Philosophy of Sex Alan Soble reinforces that prostitution is only an exchange. Dealing with the prostitute and client, Soble states that "their transaction is not a mutual delight, entered into from the spontaneous impulse of both parties, but rather a calculated exchange of goods of a different order" (pg. 467). Even though the prostitute does not delight in the acts, she does want the goods that the client is offering, which is money.
