Is racism right? Should we divide the human race according to their color of their skin? I think not. Racist ideas are not just about skin color but also about the other differences in physical characteristics, language, religion, creed and culture. The idea of racism and racial superiority is still used to explain the ill and unequal treatment of one by another. Racism can also be explained as the way in which dominant groups in society can exercise their strength over other less powerful groups. This is how they reveal their fear, the fear of weaker groups climbing up to their level or above.
Racial differences are not important at all. They become important when societies give them social significance. That is when societies value certain groups more than others. What difference does it make if a person is different in appearance or culture? We are all created to be equal and treat each other with respect. Appearance does not state whether a person is good or bad it is just a way of telling who's who.
As children grow up they learn about the people around them from their parents, teachers, friends as well as books, magazines and television. Children often adjust to their own society because their parents and families program them into believing that their society is most important and is more significant than others. Some people approach this as unacceptable. This can be seen all around the world, a good example is the Klu Klux Klan, also known as the K.K.K. who believe that all colored skin people should not exist, they are not as strong as they used to be, but they go to great measures as to kill any colored skin person in site. Often controlling parents restrict their children to mix with children outside their society.
