whose ancestors were the Persians who used to control this area, incited rebellions in much of Asia Minor and Persia, these lands soon broke free from the Arab-Islamic rule. The next influx of new people to the middle east would be an invasion, the crusaders from Europe to be exact. Around the 11th - 13th centuries, millions of people would die in some of the largest military campaigns in history. At first some major cities were captured by the Christians, like Jerusalem, and Antioch, but they were both later recaptured by the Muslims. During the crusades Christian ideas were spread throughout the kingdom of Islam, this event is sometimes referred to the seeds that would soon sprout into the hatred that some Islamic extremists still hold for western and christian nations even today. The next invasion would prove far more destructive to the Islamic empire than all of the crusades combined, in the 13th century Mongols ravaged the lands of the middle east. These invasions destroyed the lands of Iraq and Iran, and ended the Arab-Islamic Empire for good. The new rulers of the middle east would be the Ottoman Empire, in 1453 the Ottomans took over Constantinople, thus ending the Byzantine Empire, and continued their conquest until they had control over the middle east. Around the 19th century, when the Ottoman Empire starts to decline, we see the last of the great middle
eastern civilizations begins to crumble. The "Sick Man of Europe" as it was called, began to lose territory to Russia and Austria, then after it sided with Germany in world war I, it was secretly divided up between Britain and France. This caused an influx of Caucasians and Europeans to move to the middle east, which only fed fuel the fire that was the anger of the middle east, being under foreign rule and having strange peoples enter their states, on top of losing a world war, made the middle east peoples unhappy, to say the least.
