             Our duty extends past close of business everyday. We are commissioned officers in the United States Army twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. We should always be prepared to answer duties call. We have been entrusted with precious American lives in which it is our duty to guide and protect. They expect us to lead by example on duty as well as off. If an officer is seen or heard of demonstrating immoral activities on his personal time, he and the rest of his fellow officers lose credibility with their subordinates. This type of behavior is intolerable. A leader is disciplined. If you expect discipline among your followers and lack it in your own life, your followers will first lose respect and then grow to resent you. We must have discipline as officers to consciously strive to live up to the expectations that we set for our troops. We must be able to inspire and be able to motivate our soldiers to be better soldiers and better people based on how we live our lives. In the Bible, Matthew 5:16 it says, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." It is the same principle as officers; we must let our light shine for our soldiers leading them by our example so they will know right from wrong.
             Honor. As a professional officer he or she is obligated to carry out his or her duty with honor exemplifying the necessity for military rectitude and professionalism.
