read "With even balance stood he In the highest parts of the horizon: Then came he nearer and approached, And was at a distance of two bows, or even closer, And he revealed to his servant what he revealed (53:5-10). This surah basically affirms that Muhammad stood at God's throne in the top of the heavens, God approached, and gave him knowledge. While these passages from the Qur'an give the same basic concept to the reader, that the Night Journey and Ascension did occur, they do not really attempt tell the whole story about the experience.
