She was later caught on the New Jersey Turnpike where she was arrested along with Sundiata Acoli, also a member of the Black Panther Party (BPP). She was being framed for a crime she did not commit. There was no evidence of her involvement. She was also charged with committing other crimes in which she did not commit.
