Nasser believed the pact was an attempt by the west to
             dominate the Arabs moved Nasser closer to soviets.
             - Tensions rose due to an arms deal between Czechoslovakia
             and Egypt in 1955. This motivated Israel to buy weapons

             support an Egyptian attack on Israel.

             - While Israel got anxious, the UK and France argued over
             the use and control of the Suez canal. Nasser was upset at
             UK and US for refusing to sell arms to Egypt.
