Think about it you and your dog, the best of friends. Like many people with animals you and your dog are inseparable. Your dog will stick by your side when the going gets tough and hope is dismal. But think for a moment, how do most of us repay their loyal companionship, by hooking them up a tiny cord or chain in the back yard with little space for them to be free. Creating a small chained in area for them to run wild is the best possible solution.
             The first step in building this dog pen will be to gather the necessary tools and equipment, which you can pick up form your local hardware store. The equipment consists of the following: one or two doors, the desired amount of chain-link fencing, metal posts to hold up the pen, caps, connectors, and connecting poles. The tools that you use in the construction of the pen will be a sledgehammer, pliers, flat-head screwdriver, and a tape measure. With these tools and equipment you should easily be able to construct this dog pen.
             When you begin construction on the pen you should establish a perimeter, to insure that you build a square pen. To do this you need to a three-foot space, then make a mark every eight feet for posts. Put the posts in by digging a hole and place them in or you can take the sledgehammer and drill each pole into the ground.
             The second stage consists of two steps, the first of these steps is to take the connectors and with the use of a screwdriver place one on top of each post. Then take the connector poles and slide the poles into the connectors one by one. The second step of this task will be to fasten the chain-link to the posts. To do this you need to have another person take the chain-link and stretch it out as far as it will go. To fasten it to the posts you will use a pair of pliers and the little metal rods that come with the fencing, and bend them around the post and fencing to unite them.
