The theater has always been a favorite pastime of mine. I love to go and watch a great show: a ballet, an opera, a musical, or just a play, I jump at the chance to enjoy a good show! Standing on a Broadway stage has always been a dream of mine. Although, I knew it would never happen due to the fact that I was blessed with the ability to sing every note off key! However, this far off fairy-tale-of-a-dream became reality when I got the opportunity to visit my friend Jessamy in New York last summer.
             Jessamy was one of the fourteen girls that got accepted to the most prestigious ballet schools in the country. She got the chance to spend the summer in New York City, and take classes at the School of American Ballet, directed y George Balanchine. (Founder and artistic director of New York City Ballet) My mom, friend (Katie Tullis), dance teacher (Denise), and her husband (Ralph) decided that we would spend a few days in the city visiting the Jessamy, seeing some shows, and shopping around town.
             After a five-hour ride, filled with filling out a Survivor application, listening to Tullis talk about cheerleading, and many pit stops and traffic jams, we finally arrived at our hotel. Our first night we hung out with Jess and her dance friends at their dorms, and then Tullis and I went back to the hotel to check out the pool and the gym. Then we hit the sack and woke up bright and early to watch Jessamy's classes. (One ballet, one Pointe, one jazz, and their end of the year Stars and Stripes rehearsal) The rest of the day we spent shopping on Fifth Avenue and spending our parents' money!
             That night my dream would come true! We bought tickets to 42nd Street a couple days before we left for New York. A guy named Todd Lattimore, who used to dance with our company, was in the show, and we were going to surprise him! Denise wrote a note to Todd on a napkin, for the stage crew to send backstage.
