             Did you know that 10% of all adult Americans are affected by alcoholism? Well, it's true!
             Also, junior and senior high kids consume 35% of all the wine coolers sold in the United States.
             Just think what it would be like living with an alcoholic parent. Pretty scary, huh? These kids
             Go through life afraid that if they do something wrong or if they forget to pick up a toy that their
             Parent will yell at them. Some kids tell them what the alcohol does to them and how it makes
             them feel. Although alcoholics are aware of the effects that alcohol has on their mind and body, they still continue to drink.
             Do you really know what alcohol is? It is a formula of ethyl alcohol. Some adults, even teens, think that there is little or no alcohol in a wine cooler. But there definelty is. Junior and senior high students take in 35% of all the wine coolers sold in the United States. That's a lot of for anyone let alone teenagers. Teens are often mislead by the advertising and packaging of alcoholic beverages. Wine coolers usually contain more alcohol than a mixed drink. Drinking too much can lead to cirrhosis of the liver. Cirrhosis is the ninth leading cause of death due to alcohol abuse. Also, three out of one hundred deaths are caused by alcoholic related problems. In 1990, the Dietary Guidelines for Americans said that beer contains calories but not too many nutrients. Some people think that "light" beer has less alcohol than regular beer. It might have just as much. It is also recommended that men should only drink two beers a day. And women should only drink have one a day. Labels of beers and wines often don't show the buyer how much alcohol is in the product that you are buying. Although alcohol content changes wit state to state, buyers aren't able to tell how much alcohol is in their drink.
