The book I read was Johnny Tremain by Esther Forbes. Johnny Tremain is one of the best books I have ever read. This is an interesting historical novel, covering many parts of history such as the Boston Tea Party, and the Battle of Lexington and Concord. It also talks about The Boston Observers and the Sons of Liberty, a rebellious group of patriots responsible for the Boston Tea Party. Johnny Tremain also includes very famous historical characters such as Paul Revere, the Adam's, James Otis and John Hancock.
             The book takes place in Boston, Massachusetts in the 1700's. The book is definitely based on the passionate times in colonial Boston before the climax of the Revolutionary War. The author made the plot so well and thorough that it seemed like she read it out of a diary of Johnny Tremain.
             During those times before the war the British/English taxed the colonists large amounts of money to live in the "New World".
             The book seemed really realistic to me because Johnny was a silversmith, a fairly common job of the times, they used fairly language that was fairly common for the times. Plus, the way the author described the attire worn by everyone in the colonial days. I also felt that the author did a great job describing the town of Boston and everyone that lived in it.
             I think Esther Forbes tried to tell people what it would have been like to live in the colonial times and write a fictional book too. She probably wanted to tell people about the Revolutionary War and how that effected colonies.
             The most exciting part of the book was when Johnny dressed up as Mr. Pumpkin then cut himself, and told the British that he was wounded.
             If I were Johnny Tremain I would have gone with Rab to fight the British.
             Johnny Tremain reminds me of Bill. (name changed to protect the ) Bill is also sort of arrogant, proud and bossy. But they are also very different. Johnny's family is sort o...
