What Old Glory Means to Me

             As Old Glory flies in the sky, we are reminded of the meaning of it. Old Glory means a lot to me. Every time I see a flag, I think of the freedom that I have. It shows the unity of the states. The flag is a constant reminder of the justice that we have. I look at Old Glory and see these meanings.
             Freedom was won in our country. I have the rights to live my life as I please. Old Glory shows the freedom that I have. It was first put up when we won the war and were freed from Great Britain's control. I live in a free country. Every time I see a flag, it reminds me of that freedom. There was blood shed for that freedom. The red stripes are a reminder of this. They stand for the blood. Freedom is one of the things that I see when I see the flag.
             The stars on Old Glory mean unity to me. They symbolize the states. This means something to me. I see the unity that has brought our country so close together. That unity has helped the country in its time of need. The September eleventh attacks showed the unity that our country has.
             I am reminded of the justice that the flag shows. This justice is not always shown equally even though it was meant to be. I think of the justice that we are supposed to have as men and women in the United States. We are treated fairly because of the war that was fought. I look at Old Glory and see this. Old Glory means justice to me.
             Old Gory has meaning in my life. I live in a country where I have freedom. The red stripes show the blood that was shed. This resulted in our freedom. Our country is united together. Old Glory shows the unity with the stars. I have justice in a world that usually won't show justice to woman. I see this when I look at the flag.
