He wanted to associate himself with the people who were passionate about the patriotic cause. Aung San Suu Kyi inherited many traits that her father possessed. She would not settle to be average. Like her father, she would not allow herself to conform to the ways of her countries policies. She was bold enough to take a stand and voice her opinion just like her father.
Aung San was the prime leader in gaining independence from British imperialism. In order to have an uprising against such oppressive government, their had to be an alliance with Japan. Aung San was the one who initiated contact between the Japanese and Burma. He selected a group of thirty to go get training in the Japanese army in order to create Burma's own independent army. The army was created and an alliance with Japan was formed due to the efforts of Aung San. He led his country to independence with single-mindedness and a high sense of purpose. Aung San Suu Kyi gets her inspiration from her father. She gets many of her ideals from the efforts of her father. A call to leadership is something that Aung San Suu Kyi gets from him. She has a great love and sense of pride for her country, and like her father, she was willing to dedicate her life for the independence of Burma.
