uilt their own town, and they named it Dale. There they flourished, and discovered gold, jewels and became very very rich, even the poorest of them had money to spend and to lend. All was well until evil came from the south, in the form of a dragon. The dragon was named Smaug and was pure evil. He ransacked and plundered the town killing mostly all, and stealing the treasures of the dwarfs. This was their adventure, for they were going to travel passed the Edge of the Wild, over the Misty Mountains, through Mirkwood, (which are all very important places in the book) and recover Thorin's ancestors' treasure, in the Lonely mountain.
Bilbo had many many questions to ask about this adventure, but the dwarfs were tired. They told Bilbo to up at 10 sharp and they shall leave by 11. Bilbo went to sleep and didn't think anything of their stories.
The hobbit woke up at 12 and the dwarfs had left, he was happy they left, but a part of him wanted to go on the adventure. He started to clean up his house when Gandalf entered and rushed him out of his house, telling him that the dwarfs had left him a note telling him to meet at an inn down the road at 12 exactly! He met the dwarfs just in time, but did not have any of his personal belongings with him. They crossed the Edge of the Wild, which was a boundery between good and evil, anything goes beyond the Edge of the Wild, and there is often nobody to help you if you are in trouble.
They started toward their treasure but it is not very long before they encounter their first problem. It was raining, and cold, and the group realized that the wizard had disappeared. Bilbo saw a flickering light off in the distance, and the group told him to find out what it was, for Hobbits are fast moving through woods and are very quiet. The light turned to be a fire, with 3 trolls sitting around it. Bilbo didn't want to come back empty handed, so he tried to pick the pocke...
