Christopher Columbus, change the world by "discovering" two new continents. Columbus' discovery had both positive and negative affects. He started the European exploration into the Americas. At first the effect was positive, because the Europeans, and the Native people worked together. Both continents developed new technology that help the world develop. The natives to the Americas help the Europeans start new lifes, in their new world, while the Europeans gave the natives new technology, crops, and brought them Christianity. As time went on, the to civilisations began to hurt each other. The negative effects happened later on as the two groups of people became to hate each other, to the point were they fought in bloody wars. The great ancient civilisations were destroyed by the greediness of the Europeans. Maybe, if Christopher Columbus' discovery had come later in the world's history, we would have been more careful in preserving the great civilisations of the Americas. Who knows, maybe if Columbus hadn't discovered America, maybe the Native Americans would have sailed to Europe and conquered them.
Not only did Columbus change the world by discovering America, he also inspired others explorers to live out their dreams, and change the world themselves. For example, without Columbus, Magellan would have never ventured out into the Atlantic Ocean. He also inspired people such as Da Gama, Cabot, and Cartier to explore other areas of the world. Without Columbus' voyage, these people probably would have never become explorers, and the world wouldn't be half advanced as it is today.
