             The idea of the GUI was first introduced by Ivan Sutherland circa 1975. He developed an interface called Sketchpad which allowed the creation of graphic images directly on a display screen rather than by entering codes and formulas into the computer through a keyboard
             (DigitalCentury). This was a major step in bringing the internet where it is today. Not only did we have the capacity to store and access information, but now we had a relationship that could be understood more easily by the user. For example, before GUI if you had a sentence written on a black screen and you wanted it deleted from the computers memory you would enter a line of code and it would disappear, but how do you really know that it was gone.
