Toyota has also kept up with the pace and created the Prius, Tacoma, Solara, the new Celica and the Avalon. In order to keep up with each other, each company must invest lots of money into research and development to cope with the changing tastes of the consumers.
             The increases in population and income have also helped car manufacturers bring in higher profits. The United States currently has approximately 285 billion people and of 285 billion people, one can say that at least twenty-two percent of the population can afford a $20,000 car. This twenty-two percent of the population are most likely educated, working individuals who are probably making more $60,000 a year. Every year a person's income may rise about 3%, which gives them an extra incentive to spend a little more on the things they would like to buy.
             Being two of the leading competitors in the American car industry, Honda and Toyota of course have price differences.
