What's the worst thing that comes to your mind? Is it death, or maybe a horrible illness that you could contract, or even a person that you detest, but cars wouldn't have crossed your mind when you think of something you hate. Well, when I thought of the one thing that I dislike the most, images of automobiles and all the other baggage that comes with them, made my blood boil.
We live in a society that heavily relies on the use of automobiles so that we are able to get to the places we need to go, whether it is to get to work, school, or shopping. Wasn't it great when you wear a child, you never had to worry about getting anywhere, because you had your wonderful parents to chauffer you around to your every whim. But, when you hit that magic age of sixteen, you start becoming aware of all the responsibilities that are associated with driving a car. I can remember getting my drivers license, I was so happy that I was now able to operate an automobile without the supervision of my parents. That would be the last time I ever, had a smile on my face, when it came to driving a car.
It's all fun and games the first couple of months after you get that license, but the luster fades away very quick. It is now time to face the facts of owning a car. Car insurance, car maintenance, gas, none of these where factored into the equation, when you acquired your license.
Due to my age and gender I am in the highest bracket for car insurance. Right now I am paying one thousand five hundred dollars a year to keep my car on the road, and that not counting the cost of gas and maintenance of the car. I think that the insurance companies shouldn't have such a high price for all guys my age. Its true that a lot of people my age are involved in car accidents, and get speeding tickets, but I haven't violated one motor vehicle rule since I got my drivers license.
