Is Lady Justice Peeking Under Her Blindfold?

             Try to picture this scene: your favorite movie stare is caught with drugs on his person after
             being stopped by the police. Before even being take to trial, your celebrity is treated as if he
             didn't do a thing. The trial comes around and because of his status as an actor the charges are
             dropped. Now, this is obviously not fair if we keep in mind the celebrity was 100% guilty of the
             accused crime. Merely because the movie star hat copious amounts of money and influence on the
             public, fairness was set aside. Justice is said to be blind. Unfortunately in many cases, it simply
             As I mentioned before justice, although not always being so, should be blind. The law
             cannot be an emotional affair and must stay true to itself. A starving boy steals a loaf of bread;
             A common thief steals your television set. Both of these occurrences should be treated in the same
             way, regardless of circumstances. Call me cold and cruel, it doesn't matter when it comes down to
             obeying the "letter of the law". How can we have a fair society if we peek under the blindfold of
             justice to bestow special treatment on a case by case basis? There is just no way to do that.
