tticus is a very self-effacing man. He didn't want his children to know about him being the "deadliest shot in Maycomb" as he doesn't want to be known as being big headed. I feel Atticus' main quality is the way he treats everybody the same and treats them the way he, himself would like to be treated. He never looks down on anybody despite his successful career.
