Of Mice and Men

In English, the whole class read a novel and created a cooperative multi-media project. After reading John Steinback's Of Mice And Men, my group was assigned a topic about the life in the 1930's. The story focused on two interior workers who traveled frequently during the Great Depression and received little pay for the hard work they did. The topic that my group and I were assigned was the "family life in the 1930's." During that time it was extremely hard for one person to support himself financially. The food cost much cheaper during the 1930's then now, but people did not make as much money during that time either. From this project, I discovered numerous new specialties and techniques about personal presentation skills, multi-media, and the group dynamics.
It took time and effort for me to prepare for the presentation. After doing couple of hours of homework, I then studied just for English for about fifty minutes each night. I also personally studied my notes for two weeks every night for about ten minutes before I went to bed. I thought that my studying really paid off in my final grade. The day when my group was scheduled to present, I got sick and could not come to school, so I had to perform alone on the next day. I believed in myself when I went up front of the classroom to present, because I did not waste my time but actually studied the information. I think that the time I took to go over the notes for the presentation really paid off because I was pleased with my grade in the end. It wasn't scary for me to go and
present in front of the whole class, because I was used to presenting in front of a big audience. In Berkley, my former high school, we used to have a presentation almost every week. This time it was a little bit different for me since I was going in front of new kids and did not know what to expect. I really think that my presentation turned out to be great.
