"Because I know he's a fake, and he doesn't like anybody around who knows!" (Death of a Salesman page 58) This quote depicts the controversial decision of whether or not Biff Loman should tell Linda Loman the "secret" between Biff and Willy. Biff and Willy both do not get along, and the father and son connection differs ever since Biff walked in on his father with another woman. Telling Linda would result in years of lost trust in marriage. Believing Biff under the circumstances, he put the family in would become a difficult task for Linda. Lastly, Biff should not tell Linda, for it would only make her more upset and it would practically ruin Linda's image of Willy. Biff should not tell Linda about the prior relationship between Willy and the other women.
             Linda and Willy Loman, a couple married for over thirty-five years, brought up two sons, who both loved their parents a great deal. Linda shared equal trust and love for Willy throughout her marriage. "He's just a big stupid man to you, but I'll tell you there's more good in him than in many other people." (Page 59) Telling Linda would ruin the trust of the marriage that existed for over thirty-five years. Biff should not tell Linda the "secret," because he would ruin the trust in the relationship between Willy and Linda. A liar, a cheat and a fake all describe the image of Biff Loman. The reader learns of the lost trust in the Loman family in the previous years. Biff lost practically every job he took part in due to stealing and lying. Later the reader finds out that he spent time in jail for a felony of stealing. If Biff tells Linda the "secret" then perhaps she would not believe him, this would cause unnecessary turmoil amongst the family. Biff should not tell Linda the unknown secret.
             After the death of a family member, one should not tell a secret which could cause an argument in the family. Linda probably mourned the death of her husband for a very long time, ...
