Occasions for Argumentative Essays

When reading the information on argumentative essays, I started to wonder if the essay is like having a debate but only on paper. Like a debate, the essay has to state the arguer's issues. Which is why I chose the "Pros and Cons" and the "Emotions" tips.
I think that by stating the pros and cons of an argument, this allows the readers to see the argument from the writer's perspective. By using this, it also helps the arguer realize points of his argument that may be more relevant than other points.
I also will use the emotional aspect of an argument. When arguing everything is based upon emotions whether you agree or disagree with the arguer. When arguing with emotion, euphemism (The act or an example of substituting a mild, indirect, or vague term for one considered harsh, blunt, or offensive) is very important. The way words are used will help the arguer argue more effectively from his viewpoint. The play of words or emotions, if done correctly, may win some opposing readers to the arguer's side.
