They do not treat teenagers with the same respect as an adult of their own age. Adultism is an oppression that is highly widespread, perhaps one of the most widespread attitudes in the world. It ranks alongside racism. There are many times in which young adults do not receive the same treatment as adults do in situations, such as finding a job, or even eating at a restaurant. No matter what is done, there is no way to avoid adultism. It has been around for centuries, and it is almost an absolute certainty that it will be around for many more.
