             Mersault, is very nondescript, he is very coldhearted to life in general, and doesn't even care when his own mother dies. The world and human existence have no rational purpose or meaning. Hopes and dreams are nothing to him. Meursault traps in all of those circumstances just because of his indifference.
             Meursault is indifferent to his mother. He expresses no grief in responding to Maman's death. He is melted by the hot sun more than by the funeral of his mother.
             It looks unusual to others and this is why they testified against him in the court. This indifference cost him his life, but the death for him is the expected end to the ordinary human cycle.
             Meursault also doesn't care about his mistress (she wasn't mistress for him, she was just Marie). He tells her that he doesn't think he loves her, but is doesn't mean anything to him. Meursault will get married if Marie wants to and he is annoyed that she questions his reasons when it is her idea. He doesn't make eye contact with her in the court as she doesn't even exist. He is happy with Marie and likes her, but there is no emotional attachment. So, he just loses her as he lost others people who loved him. This man cannot feel anything in his heart for his surroundings.
             He doesn't even feel remorse about the murder. He must keep reminding himself that he has killed someone and belongs in prison. Meursault doesn't fell guilty, however, doesn't do anything to impr
