ANALYSIS OF A SELECT PASSAGE FROM CALL OF THE WILD
             This passage is taken from page 10, I selected it as I believed it was one of the primary openings in the book that showed Jack London's ability to describe both the psychological and physical characteristics of the people and there surroundings.
             In this passage Jack London describes bucks cushy lifestyle living with Judge Miller on his open land with very few cares. And how buck copes with his human counterparts, as he has not yet seen the reality of the world. But Buck has yet to learn of the outside world as this passage merely shows us how man and nature reside in a perfect situation, which is the illusion to the reality. This links back to my previous study which tells of mans greed for power and control over there surroundings, in this case they have already gained power and created an unrealistic environment which has been manufactured to suit their requirements.
             London describes Buck as the ruler of his domain, this being his surroundings at Judge Miller's place and every one was underneath him as he was in control. Buck was obviously the Judge's favourite as he was held with up most affection for family pet. This links to the chapter, for the love of man as he may have left his past but will always remember those of the humans, which did actually care for him affectionately like jack Thornton bucks final attachment to the human society.
             The language used by Jack London is that of a descriptive narrative to show how bucks life is affected by change of lifestyle in this case it can be both for the humans and nature. The key aim of this passage is to show how buck and his pat life were taken away from him when his gardener decides to sell him as a sled dog. This will have not only physical but mental affects on him as he is taken from the illusion of unreality and thrown into reality and its cruelty of the real world
