Juxtaposition in A Good man is hard to find

             This paper reflects the juxtaposition between the grandmother and the Misfit. I will give a brief synopsis of each quote where juxtaposition is present.
             On page 12 it is ironic because the grandmother was frantically waving her arms to flag down the oncoming car, just so that they could get out of that situation. "The grandmother stood up and waved both arms dramatically to attract their attention."
             "The grandmother had a peculiar felling that the bespectacled man was someone she knew. His face was familiar to her as if she had known him all her life."
             Later on in the sotry when the grandmother recognizes the Misfit it is a connection between humanity and divinity.
             On page 14, "The grandmother shrieked, she scrambled to her feet and stood staring. You're the Misfit!" she said. "I recognized you at once."
             Also on page 14, "You wouldn't shoot a lady would you?" Here the grandmother has some inkling that they are in danger. This ties in with the end of the story when the Misfit says, "She would have been a good woman if someone had been there to shoot her every minute of her life." This quote contrasts her and his image on a lady.
             On page 15, "Listen, "the grandmother almost screamed, "I know you're a good man. You don't look like you have common blood. I know you must come from nice people!" She is just complimenting him to save her own life. She is trying to make him feel like he has done nothing wrong.
             Also on page 15, "I would hate to have to." This quote contrasts with the quote the grandmother says when he is asking him not to shoot her because she is a lady. In the last page of the story he gives a quote about how she would have been a good woman if there were someone to shoot her every day of her life.
