"9/11" has changed each and every person's life in this country. By experienceing an event of this magnitude, it would be difficult not to change in some way. Overall, the United States has changed greatly. Citizens no longer take their safety and security for granted, more people appriciate and recognize the emergency services, and new and more stringent securities will and have undoubtably affected everyone.
             Before 9/11 no one would have imagined something this devastating could happen to the U.S. Now, we no longer take our everyday securities for granted. People have been made more aware of their surroundings in an effort to improve security, not to mention the noticable enlargement of security forces in the public's eyes. For instance, our nation's capitol now has armed guards at almost every corner.
             During the terrorist attacks, many emergency workers lost their lives. Although this was a tragic loss of life, many people needed this to truly realize how much the public safety sector does for them. Memorials are being raised, services are being held, donations given, and a general appriciation for all emergency workers can be seen throughout the United States.
             Some changes are more noticable than others, but one of the most noticable is the security crackdown inside our borders. Many people are offended by these crackdowns but most people learned to appriciate them and to tolerate them to prevent another 9/11. Changes and improvements have been made very noticable. Besides armed guards being present in out cities, planes are now protected, the government has more power to investigate suspiscious cititzens, and a new public sercurity alert system has been developed.
             No one will remain unchanged in some way in this country. This has undoubtly changed our lives forever, whether it be through increased security, the loss of a loved one, or an incringement of our privacy.
