             Survival: the New World Dictionary states, The act, state, or fact of surviving. That is just the tip of the ice burg when it comes to traveling with children. Children can be sweet, loving and well behaved most of the time, but get them strapped in the back seat of a vehicle inches from each other for a long period of time, and one begins to wonder if they are truly your off spring. To ensure everyone's survival and your sanity, try these simple rules while traveling with children.
             Make sure everyone under the age of 18 has gone potty. An empty bladder makes for a smoother ride. But be warned; the first rest stop you come upon, both children will be screaming they have to "pee" as if they hadn't gone for hours. Do not try to explain that they just went potty 20 minutes ago, because you will just be wasting your breath. Try to find some good in this early stop. Stretch your legs, take a deep breath, and clean the million and one bugs off your windshield.
             Even though you had feed your little angels before departure, about an hour into your trip hunger and thirst will be predominate on their little minds. Be sure to pack a survival kit, consisting of finger snack foods, drinks in spill proof cups, and don't forget a wet wash cloth and hand towel for those sticky little fingers. Feel free to throw in a little something for yourself, like an extra bottle of Motrin and earplugs.
             A popular question to be asked while traveling is "are we there yet"? You can be asked this ever-important question up to 50 times within the first 45 minutes of your trip. I found the best answer for parents is, " Close your eyes, take a nap, and we will be there before you know it", or you can just simply say "Ask your father".
