While these musicians set the basis for Jazz, their outstanding musical achievement went virtually unnoticed, both financially and socially.
             It was not until "Hot Jazz", the second wave of New Orleans Jazz, that Jazz performers began to reap the successes of performers of, "higher culture." These musicians became better known and increased the complexity and dynamic of the music of their predecessors.
