Baseball is a sport that does not take a genius to figure out how to play. It consists of two teams that play each other in a game of nine innings. The team that scores the most runs wins. Baseball has been around since the late 1800's and has produced great men such as Ty Cobb, Babe Ruth, and Hank Aaron. It has produced a game where every person has an opportunity to play. It gives children dreams and keeps them out of trouble, such as alcohol, drugs, and gangs. Baseball is a symbol of America.
Baseball consists anywhere from nine to forty members on a team. You have your outfielders, infielders, and pitchers. The pitcher is the key to the game. If he is not doing well, the whole team is probably not doing well also, He is the leader. The infielders (catcher, first baseman, etc...) are the protectors of the infield. They are responsible for anything that takes place in the diamond (infield). Finally the outfield! The outfielder's job is to track down foul balls and field balls hit into the outfield.
On the offense's side you have nine batters. The line up usually runs from the better hitters to the not so better hitters. The fourth batter is the clean up hitter which is the power in the line up.
The process analysis of the game starts with the first batter and the first pitch. The batter has three strikes before he is out and the pitcher has up to four balls before he walks the batter. If the batter gets on base he can attempt to steal a base, but might be thrown out by the catcher. The offense needs three outs before they are able to bat.
