Suicide is immoral
II
Suicide is immoral for several reasons. First, suicide is immoral due to many religious beliefs. In the Ten Commandments, it says "Thou shalt not kill" and this commandment also means that a person should not kill himself as well as anyone else. There are also no exceptions whatsoever to this law. Also, according to religious beliefs, every person's death is entirely up to God.
Second, suicide is also wrong according to our legal system. The law says that it is illegal to kill anyone including oneself. It is understood that everyone wants to lead a good life. If everyone wants to lead a good life, this means that those people would have to live a moral life. If people live moral lives that means that they can not kill anyone, obviously, including oneself.
Finally, suicide is completely unnatural. Looking at animals and other organisms for instance, they strive to survive. They do not try to annihilate themselves. Trees do not try to kill themselves, it just happens when they get old. Humans are no different from these things. They were born, and they get older until it is their time to die.
III
Some people may try to disagree with all of the above. Some may argue that suicide is allowable because of their freedom, as long as it does not interfere with anyone else's rights. They believe they have the freedom to choose whether they live or die. Others may say it is okay in times of grave depression and terminal illness.
IV
When considering freedom as an excuse to commit suicide one must keep in mind that his/her duty in life is self-preservation. One has the right to treat his/her body as they see fit, as long as his/her actions are due to motives of self-preservation.
As far as depression and terminal illness are concerned, suicide is still not permissible. No matter how bad things may seem in one's life, suicide is just not necessary. Things can always get...
