it is like. If I were to go visit the Grand Canyon, my experience would not be a surprise of discovery. I would, in my mind, be comparing it to what I have already seen and heard. If I had been told about the bright colors in the rocks and the reflecting of the sun, and saw the Canyon on a cloudy and drizzly day, the colors would be flat and dull. My reaction would be one of disappointment.
