Shadowlands

"Between the idea and the reality....falls the shadow" (lines 71-76) Everything in life starts as a simple idea. Life itself is an idea. What happens between the idea and the idea becomming a reality is a "shadow land".
In my personal life I have major idea's every single day. I am not one to make many things a reality. I face these problems in many areas of my life, such as my desire to be the world's most reknown fashion designer. I believe it will happen, but all I can truly see right now is the end result and my schooling. I have no idea about what lies in my personal shadow land between graduating from college and being famous, a very large stretch.
As a self titled artist shadow lands are what my life are made of. Van Gogh cut of his ear, I believe it was because he could not depict the image, emotion,or feeling, that he was trying to convey. I sympathise with the man. I feel every day as if there is something trying to break free from me. There is an image in here, or something, that desprately needs and wants to come out. Very few people understand what I am talking about. Most people think it is just crazy. I wake up in the middle of the night sometimes thinking about it. I don't believe it will ever come out. "Shape without form, shade without color" (line 11). That line is the best description I have ever heard for the way I feel. ( In the poem, however, I don't believe that is how it is meant.) My shadow of the image that is in me tortures me. I can almost see it, I could almost tell you what colors are in it, and I can even tell when there has been a change in it. Yet, I have no clue where it is, what it is, or how to get rid of it. "Between the conception and the creation...falls the Shadow." (lines 78-82) One day maybe my concept will become a creation, until then I shall continiue to search aimlessly for whatever it is in my shadow land.
