It was high noon. The golden sun was blazing from its zenith. Fleecy cloud scudded across the azure sky. A gentle sea breeze tousled my hair. I sniffed at the refreshing, tingling air. The seashore, a crescent of soft powdery sand fringed with swaying casuarinas trees, was picture of beauty and tranquility. Mother nature was at her best!
Yet I was in a pensive mood. Whenever I had a problem, I had always come to the sea. I just let the timeless clam of the blue yonder work its magical charm on me. Many a time , I had walked away feeling soother. As I recounted my troubles, I felt deeply distressed. I was on my way to yet another job interview 0 my third in one day! I could not take any more disappointment. I needed a job to fend for my family. No job, no food.
So here I was, seeking some inspiration from the mighty ocean. Would I be successful today? AS I walked beneath the swaying coconut palms, they seemed to whisper words of encouragement to me. The warm powdery sand gently tingled my feet as I padded on, barefooted. At length, I came upon some rock pools of cold, crystal-clear water with small fished, darting her and there. They seemed so carefree. Seagulls wheeled overhead, their shrill screams shattering the serenity. A happy flock they were, in flight or in search food. Were they also screaming cheerful perseverance to me?
As if to immortalize their message of hope, the foamy, white-crested waves from far beyond rolled and raced with each other, as they made for the shore The magnitude of my personal problems paled into insignificance as new determination surged in me. The relentless swashing of the waves, the ever-forceful pounding and battering against the treacherous boulders and sheer cliffs, had taught me forbearance and fortitude in the face of adversity. I resolved to work untiringly to achieve my goals, thanks to the mighty, deep blue ocean.
