Narative Essay

When I was eighteen years old, I was extremely nervous to take my first spring break trip to Rocky Point, Mexico, but as soon as I arrived I realized that Mexico was not as bad as it has been made out to be. After my friends and I arrived, we unpacked, and headed for the beach. Our hotel room was on the bottom floor by the pool, which faced the beach, and was very clean. We spent the first day at the hotel, drinking by the pool and the indoor bar and grill. The locals were very nice, most spoke English and were very polite. We failed to run into any trouble with the local authorities, which we were warned often happens. Over the next few day we walk the small town enjoying the many cultural differences, finding most people to be very helpful. We met many young people our age there, which came for the same reason, to get away from pressures of school and family. Most of our nights we spent at the local clubs, which had no cover charge, and more than reasonable drink prices. The food was excellent, the weather was great, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. The whole trip went perfectly, with not a single mishap that could have discouraged me from returning. My short five day vacation in Mexico was excellent, and makes me wonder how anyone could not enjoy a weekend in the small town of Rocky Point.
