Scary Experiance

My scariest experience in life was going to my Aunt Mary's funeral. Even though this event might not be scary to others, it was the most terrifying thing I have ever had to go through. I can remember the events and the days vividly as if they were going on at this moment.
It was the weekend of May 15th ,1999 and we driving down to NYC to visit my aunt who had cancer because we had gotten a call saying that she wasn't doing so well. So my dad had piled everyone in the car at 5 in the morning on Saturday and started driving to NY from Rochester. Even though I was 15 I had never experienced a death of someone I had really been close to. She had been my second mother. As we driving down all the memories were running through my head. She had been my babysitter during the summer and family crisis. As far as I could remember this lady had been my mom's best friend even though she was few years older than my mother. She was my mother's mentor in a type friendship way. Her kids were like my older siblings. I remember the day my mom had told me that Auntie had cancer and they didn't know where it had originated from. I remember a week later that her oldest son had come to take her to NYC to see if they could do anything for her at the big cancer hospital in NYC. That all was taking place in Feb. and now it was May. Not much time had passed by.
It was around 6 in the morning and we were just pulling into the outskirts of NYC and I was having a bad feeling all through out my body. It was the feeling where you know that something is going to go wrong. It never occurred to me that she could have died while we were there.
As we were pulling into the hospital parking lot the phone rang and It was her daughter saying that she had died 20 minutes ago. I think I was so confused and scared of what happens next. We all went back to the house and those hours were spent in a complete daze at least in my part.
