Going to College

On Wednesday September nineteenth, I woke up and put all my things in the car. My room looked bare with most of my decorations and lights. I was a little depressed, but I figured that it would get better. My mom and I got in the car and we drove the hour to Drexel. On the way, I thought of how much I was going to miss all my friends at home and my old life. I was thinking of how I was told that college was going to be extremely difficult and how I was going to have to work.
We arrived and I got a cart and started unloading my things. It only took me one trip because I met my roommate and he helped me. Luckily for me, my roommate was my best high-school friend, so I knew there weren't going to be any problems with him. I wheeled the cart into the elevator and proceeded up to the seventh floor of Kelly hall. The room wasn't too bad. It seemed a little small, but I expected that. My mom had accompanied me up to my room and she helped me unpack a few things. Then we talked and watched a little TV.
My mom was more scared than I was. Actually, I wasn't scared at all. I was just unhappy because I had to run away from all my friends and the same area that I have lived in for eighteen years. I met the people on my floor and quickly made some friends, so that made the transition a little easier. I also figured since I am only an hour away I can come home on the weekends to see my friends, or they can come up here. After two weeks, I still miss my friends at home, but I'm becoming more accommodated to college life.
