It has been one year since the attack on the World Trade Center, but it seems like it only happened yesterday.
             They say you'll never forget where you were when you first heard the news. I was in my first period class at Donna High School. There were about ten minutes left in class when the teacher in the neighboring classroom came in the door and announced the news. I was surprised but it wasn't until my next class that I actually realized the magnitude of the event. It was in that class that I saw the images for the first time over the television monitor in our classroom and they are still very fresh in my mind. For the entire period we sat and watched in disbelief. I had early release, so I went home after that class. My mom had left two messages on our answering machine telling me the watch CNN. I remember a reporter passing her microphone into a crowd of people who had gathered around the camera with pictures of their missing family members and friends. Each person begged for any information anybody had on their loved ones. I felt so sorry for them. I guess that was the initial feeling I had, sorrow. From sorrow came anger, I wanted to go out and look for whoever was responsible and get revenge. I think I reacted like most people who weren't directly affected by it reacted. I became very patriotic, I hung a flag over our porch and put stickers on my car. I think everybody did, it felt good to drive down the street and see how united everybody was, it felt like we were all one big team. The next day the entire student body gathered in front of our school a had a moment of silence for the victims and their families. I remember the first time president Bush addressed the nation and how fired up I got when he promised justice. Thinking about it still gives me the chills. I have never been so
