Flint Local 432

            In the heart of downtown Flint, in a strip full of run down old stores, the Flint Local 432, a former run down old store itself now an all ages venue hides away during the day; waiting for the sun to drop to come to life with music. On my first visit to the club, as I stood in line waiting to get in to see the local punk bands play, I looked around and I was surrounded by a bunch of punk rock kids. The whole line was spiked hair, studded belts, and band shirts. Everyone is extremely friendly and easy to talk to and no one has a problem with anyone. It's unlike any other line you've ever waited in. It's not quite or organized, it's more of a gathering then a line. The doors finally open and the gathering makes its way inside to pay their five dollars.
             After making it through the double paned glass doors and paying your five dollars to get in, many things grab your attention. Even in the dingy but well lighted lobby people are picking up flyers for future shows, checking the dry erase marker board to see what band is playing first, and talking about anything and everything. Making your way though the crowds you're forced up against the once white walls, now grey from the constant brushing of people against them.
             Looking over the walls reveals several nicks and scratches from all of the bands that have played here over the years moving their equipment in and out. All of these blemishes seem to paint the story of the club.
             Enter the small dark hallway that leads to the dingy, dark hall that houses the tiny old wooden stage that many a band has graced. As you filter past the people leaving, to the door at the end of the hallway, you hear the band getting louder with each and every step closer. The excitement grows as you get ever closer to the main floor and the bands, you can't wait to get on to the floor and dance.
