Our family has many pets, and among them are two dogs. One is a Cocker Spaniel and the other is a Golden Retriever. The Cocker Spaniel is a male, and its name is Rambo. The Golden Retriever is a female, and its name is Missy. There are many differences and similarities between these two dogs, in breed and in the way these two animals respond to their environment.
             The bodies of these two breeds are fairly different. However, there are some similarities. Rambo's hair is golden and fairly long. This is fine in the winter, but his hair must be cut in the summer to help prevent him from getting too hot. Missy also has long flowing blonde hair. However, she copes with the seasonal changes seemingly unaffected. One way their bodies are different is in size. The Cocker Spaniel has a very small, but long body with short legs, while the Golden Retriever on the other hand, is tall and has longer legs. Their barks are also sound different, and coincide with their size. Missy has very a loud volume with a deep bark, while Rambo has just a little less volume with a more shrill yapping bark.
             Another contrast between these two dogs is how they interact with each other. Missy usually will not initiate any type of "playing". Rambo on the other hand, normally does more than initiate playing, he will occasionally snap at Missy, which forces her to retaliate. Actually Missy, being a much bigger dog, gets control very easily and Rambo will cower back, trying to twist his body around to get away. Another characteristic these dogs exhibit relates to chewing. While Missy does not normally chew on things a lot, Rambo on the other hand does. In one case Rambo chewed up a pillow that was left out on the patio.
