It's been nearly two weeks since you've been in Portugal, and what do you know, for two weeks you've been drunk You travel to your homeland every year to supposedly visit your family. But, you never seem to remember who you spent your time with or what you did. Grandpa, I'm sure you know this but you are getting old. You are getting too old to be drinking so much or at all. During the year you seem to be able to keep away from the wine and beer but what is it about Portugal that makes you drink? No one at any age should drink as much as you do. I know you don't want to hear this from me, considering I am your grandson and you may think that I am being disrespectful, but please read through this letter. It is for your own good. Read through this letter a couple of times. Please just try and be open minded.
             First thing is first. Your marriage was ruined because of your drinking. I know, I know, I wasn't alive to witness what happened but I have heard both from Grandma and mom. They were scared from the times you came home, stumbling everywhere and then throwing everyone outside. Or you locking everybody out of the house and only allowing my mom to stay inside to calm you down. Did you like having your kids and your wife frightened of you? Would you have done the same thing if you were sober? Well, whenever you are sober you are the nicest and sweetest grandpa I could have.
             Then, there was the time when you lived with my mom and dad for five years. Not only was my mom and dad doing you a favor when they allowed you to stay with them for free, they had to put up with you. Again, my mom had to put you to bed just about every night. You being to wasted to remember where your bed or even your room was.
