Education

             Every child goes through the same routine with school until the age of sixteen, seventeen, or eighteen. It is an unwritten law our society abides by to send your children to grade school, up until high school. High school begins the transition from teen to young adult where kids choose numerous decisions that will impact their life. Based on whom they associate themselves with, and how their parents treat them, will mold them into the kind of people they will be for the rest of their lives. Some drop out of high school and some study to the next level. Overall, our society has a strong belief in receiving that degree. In business today, if you do not have a degree in anything, I will bet a dollar to a doughnut that you will not be satisfied with a comfortable life style. The reason being is our society as a whole thinks we should be educated in the formal ways. We should attend college to learn, and understand how the real world is. However, I stand against societies standards and believe education is a combination of street smarts, living on your own, and formal schooling.
             Someone who has a well-rounded education is someone who attends school, and is involved in extra curricular activities outside of school. You learn the common sense you need outside the brick walls of school. In school, you earn a degree which will get you a satisfying job, with a comfortable living. Being a well-rounded person is an asset not only to yourself but to your employer as well. On the other hand, if someone were to just concentrate on school, rather then go out and spend time with friends and family, he would not have any common sense.
             Living on your own also displays an understanding of knowing what happens in the real world. An eighteen year old who lives on his/her own, goes to college, and takes care of himself can be more reliable, and educated then a thirty-year old man who works a blue-collar job.
