Stamp Act

I am one of the colonials of the land that you are governing. I was conversing with the people of the land and they were telling me how they were unhappy with the conditions of the Stamp Act. It's not only one person that does not like this, it is majority of the people. Before this Stamp Act everyone felt that the land was governed well. It wasn't the best conditions but it was god enough to survive. I personally think that it is ridiculous that we have to pay up to 5 pounds for a newspaper. But don't get me wrong I am still yet loyal to the king but he is just asking too much of the people that he so called "loves."
Some of the reasons that we owe money is that we are in debt to other countries from the French and Indian war (1754-63), and the parliament thought since the Anglo-Americans were a possible threat to the welfare of the people then the people should also pay part of the debt for their protection in return. With the French and Indian war the war was won but after a lot of money was spent.
This is just a suggestion but maybe you can write a list of rights and grievances to Britain and if they do not listen to this list then stop all imports from Britain. This might not only hurt Britain but unit the people of the colony. But also you should also comply with the people of the land to see if they agree with the tax. Because taxation without representation is not the way to go about things because it is illeagal. Another way that you can alleviate some of the tension is to make the people feel that they have some of the power such as giving the people some of the power such a democratic government. Also us as colonists have the same civil liberties as British citizens. These are just a couple of things that I have been thinking about lately so if you would please take my letter into consideration about fixing the Stamp Act.
