Who are better drivers?
It has always been said that men were better drivers than women. I decided to take this assignment and turn it in to go use and figure out who really is the better driver. I have looked at all the aspects of driving. In my research I took in to account serious wreaks, fender-benders, every type of moving citation an officer can give you. I also ask my subjects about their driving habits, weather they drive with both hands on the wheel, do they check their blind spot before switching lanes, do they swerve in and out of traffic, or do they drive the speed limit at all times. My prediction is that males are better drives that females.
In a National News article, written by Darren Gray, it says that male drivers are more likely than their female counterparts to be involved in serious car smashes, AAMI crash statistics show. Men are more likely to roll their vehicle than women, and suffer more head-on smashes and accidents involving cyclists, pedestrians and animals. While, female drivers are more likely to be involved in collisions where the vehicle is reversed into another vehicle, or collides with a stationary object, the statistics show. Also in that article is says that female drivers are less likely than males to have received a traffic fine, according to a survey of 1601 motorists conducted for AAMI. Seventy-nine per cent of men said they had received a traffic infringement fine during their driving life, compared with 58 per cent of women. Male drivers were also far more likely to have had their license suspended. Twenty per cent of men surveyed had their license suspended compared with 3 per cent of women. This survey also revealed that many motorists have lowly views of the driving standards of younger drivers.
