             Another is the "creation story" of the Sioux. In this story, the most beautiful woman Ite, married the god of wind, Tate. They had quadruplets, whom they aptly named the North, West, East and South winds. "Iktomi the trickster", a god with a good sense of humor, gave even more beauty to Ite, who because of this neglected her children. Wi, the sun, betrayed his wife Hanwi, the moon, by asking Ite to sit next to him at the feast of gods. Skan, the sky and judge of all the other gods, punished all 5 of them. The punishment for Ite was that she got banished and half of her still looked beautiful but the other half looked ugly. Also, her next child was a whirlwind. The children would live with the father. Iktomi also got banished. Since he was bored playing tricks on animals, he promised not to do any more tricks and asked Ite, who had changed her name after she was banished to Anung Ite (the double faced lady) what she would want.
